COMMITTEE MEETING

Tuesday 24th May 2005

2 Minutes of the last meeting

Minutes of the meeting on 1st March were read and adopted.

3 Matters Arising

None

4 Chairman's Report

Club Nights have re-started now that the court floor has finally been resolved. Numbers are at a similar level to those we had before the issues with the courts

5 Treasurer's Report

With Craig not being able to make the meeting, there was nothing to report.

Need to have update on Club’s financial position for the next meeting so any changes to the fees can be discussed prior to the AGM

6 Secretary's Report

Sheets are up for the Club Championships. Dates are 9^th, 16^th and 23^rd June starting at 8:30

The following four weeks, 30^th June 7^th, 14^th and 21^st July are booked for coaching course. Maximum of 16 people per session with costs on same lines as last year.

7 Team Secretary’s Report

Season is finally over – almost, still have Waterside Cup Final to play against either Butts Ash or Wyvern

8 Social Secretary's Report

Mike to look at dates for Xmas dinner dance, suggested dates are 9^th, 10^th, 16^th or 17^th December.

Also looking to organise Presentation evening on either 22^nd or 23^rd July.

9 Junior Report

Nothing to report.

10 Any Other Business

Discussion on issues of courts now we are back using the Recreation Centre. Do not expect to receive any compensation from the Council as we had not actually paid out anything, only chance would be for an ex-gratia payment to club which may help to reduce costs for next year. Although chance of getting this are rated slim.

Ian N will try and come up with some points that we could try and raise with the council, he will contact Craig to try and get some financial data to put on these points. Look for either one off payment or a reduction in court fees for a period of time

Need to look at fee structure for next year to see if we are able to re-compense the membership for the loss of club nights for the 2-3 month period.

Voted on preferred format for Waterside League that will take effect from next season. Also need to find someone to serve on the Waterside Committee, does not have to be someone on our own committee.

Discuss the buddy system at AGM, ideally having two nominated members looking after each junior member to assist in their development.
