3 Matters Arising
None
4 Chairman's Report
Only issue is the state of the floor at Totton Recreation Centre. Recreation Centre have had to stop using it for fast sports as the floor fails traction tests.
Kim has had to organise alternative venues for matches at short notice. A big thanks to Kim for achieving this.
5 Treasurer's Report
Have approximately £1200 in current account.
Still some membership fees outstanding. All membership fees that have been received have now been banked.
Match fees are coming in to the club secretary on a regular basis and being banked.
6 Secretary's Report
Nothing to report
7 Team Secretary’s Report
Only had to cancel one league match due to the issue with the court floor as well as a cup match.
Difficulty in finding suitable venues for Wednesday and Thursday matches. Atherley School are able to let us have four courts on Thursdays. Also possibility of using two courts on Tuesday if we can rearrange the Wednesday dates with the opposition.
8 Social Secretary's Report
Ian N still looking at options for Booze cruise. Looking at weekend of 20th May, a few people have shown interest but still need more.
9 Junior Report
Nothing to report.
10 Any Other Business
Courts were re-sealed last week and we will play the Winchester Mixed 3rd team match tomorrow but have kept Thursday’s matches at Atherley until we have feedback from the Wednesday match.
Ian N is in regular contact with representatives of the Recreation Centre. Original contractor was given chance to fix the problem, even though the two previous re-seals had quickly caused problems with the traction on the floor.Without giving them the chance to rectify the problem, it would be very difficult for the council to take any legal action.
Current courts are just playable and we would need the council to decide if the courts were acceptable or not before trying to seek any sort of compensation for any additional costs we may incur from having to book other courts for matches.
11 Date of next meeting
Tuesday 24th May – Bold Forrester - Marchwood - 8:00pm
